Tracy Imperato
I started my journey at SUNY Nassau in 2001 as a student myself. In fact, I have now taught in some of the same classrooms I was once a student in! I teach Introduction to Physical Geology, Historical Geology, Field Lab Geology, and Beaches and Coasts.
I'm honored to have been chosen as a SUNY Chancellor's Award Recipient for Excellence in Faculty Service. In addition to teaching my students, I also enjoy coordinating and hosting the Annual Science Fair held each year on campus. I am constantly amazed and inspired by some of my prior professors, who I'm now colleagues with today!

I've been teaching at NCC for almost 15 years. I teach English and Women and Gender Studies. My Ph.D. is in American Literature. I had two books come out recently. One is an academic book called "Home is Where the Hurt is: Media Depictions of Wives and Mothers" and the other is a young adult novel entitled "Iphigenia Murphy."

I work as a Respiratory Technician in Manhattan. I deliver and set up home respiratory equipment to patients with all types of illnesses all over the Tri-state area. Normally our primary patients are 9/11 first responders but now, of course, I go to a lot more COVID-19 patients who need oxygen or other medical supplies.
