I began working for the Theatre and Dance Department as a part-time Technical Assistant in the summer of 1988. I became a full-time faculty member January of 1989. As a technical director, I'm responsible for overseeing the technical needs of our theatre productions. This includes designing and programming lighting and sound, scenery construction and providing one on one instruction to our theatre students in the discipline of technical theatre.
Honestly, it's hard to pin down my fondest memory since we have done so many memorable productions. However, I would have to say it was the Theatre and Dance Department's 50-year reunion party that we held in the Multipurpose Room of the College Center Building on Campus in 2015.
Perhaps one of our most esteemed alumni, Billy Crystal, joined faculty and students past and present in celebrating decades of friendship and experiences. To see and speak with so many of our former students and hear of their successes and even their pitfalls was an extraordinary experience.
What makes NCC special to me is what makes the theatre special to me. They are both a place for anyone to be who they want to be and discover other people who share their passion and goals."
I've been teaching full-time in the Communications Department since 2004. One of my fondest memories was when one of my production students came back years later for our departmental career day and spoke to current students about her TV production career -- and thanked me for my influence and guidance.

This is my second year at NCC (4th semester) and I’m a Dance major. My goals are to perform and choreograph professionally. I’d like to eventually have my own dance studio or company. NCC is an affordable option for someone seeking a higher education and seemed like the best option for me, especially since I wasn’t sure of what to major in at first

I joined NCC in 2006. I instantly felt like I was coming home to a big family, and have genuinely loved my time here ever since. My journey in psychology has taken some twists and turns. From my days at Stony Brook, I pursued a double major in psychology and women’s studies – and continued that path through my PhD at the University of Connecticut.

I came to NCC as a student in the fall of 1990. In November, I had to interrupt my studies because my army unit (766 Belmore Co) became the first Long Island unit to be activated to go to the Gulf War. After graduating, I went to SUNY Binghamton, where I finished a BA in English and Literature; an M.A.T. (Master of Arts in Teaching) in English Education and a Ph.D. in in Comparative Literature.

I was in the United States Marine Corps and I was stationed at Twentynine Palms, California. I decided to join NCC because I've heard many good things about the school and since I haven't been in school for more than four years, I didn't want to rush into going to a university.
