In 2001, as a young adult with no college fund I started attending SUNY Nassau because it was local, and rated best in the nation. I was completing courses without much of a plan, only knowing I had a passion for the arts and technology. It came to a point where I stepped aside from SUNY Nassau to attend Institute of Audio Research. There I received a diploma in audio recording and production and entered the entertainment world.

My mission was to become the most versatile audio engineer ever. I first jumped into live sound at venues all over Manhattan, while landing a recording engineer position at JahRockn studio in Brooklyn. Next, I started doing post-production audio for film, which led to trips to California. Ultimately, Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum hired me as AV Tech Coordinator.

One thing I realized over time is how I love to learn. The decision to come back to SUNY Nassau was so important. It opened the biggest door to where I am now. After a year of volunteering at 90.3 WHPC - The Voice of Nassau Community College, I host a weekly on-air radio show I created called Art of Heaven playing Christian worship music intertwined with hip hop, R&B, gospel, rock, and reggae. I’m living the dream, and soon will have a degree in Communications Media. We’ll see what God has in store next!

I served in the United States Navy in Recruit Training Command in Great Lakes, II and at Camp Pendleton with the 5th Marines. I was also deployed to Okinawa, Japan twice. Stateside, I knew that Nassau Community College has a reputation for being very military friendly, and when I got here, it was true.
