I have been a professor at NCC for the past five years.  Having started my academic career at SCCC, I enjoyed the feel of a SUNY community college and was happy to return as a professor in the Criminal Justice Department.   Many of our criminal justice students are aspiring to a career in law enforcement.  As an Inspector with the Nassau County Police Department and an Attorney, I'm able to share my 25 years of police experience with them.

My fondest memory of being at the college so far is participating in the Traveling Professor Program.  I am an avid traveler having visited all 50 states, and over 40 countries on 6 continents. I enjoy sharing my adventures around the world with others.  Experiencing new places, meeting people of different cultures and learning to adapt in a country where I don’t understand the language has taught me so much about myself and the world. Whether it was during a safari in Tanzania, visiting a religious site in Israel or even sitting next to a penguin in Antarctica, some of my greatest learning experiences have occurred during travel.

SUNY Nassau has become more special to me as my former students are now becoming my colleagues.  During one of my 1st semesters, I told my students of the upcoming Nassau County Police Exam and encouraged them all to sign up.  Today, one of those students is now a Police Officer working with me in the 8th precinct. He may be the first of my students to join me, but I am sure he will not be the last.

I served in the United States Navy in Recruit Training Command in Great Lakes, II and at Camp Pendleton with the 5th Marines. I was also deployed to Okinawa, Japan twice. Stateside, I knew that Nassau Community College has a reputation for being very military friendly, and when I got here, it was true.

"I served in the United States Navy in San Diego from 2014 to 2021, first on the USS Harpers Ferry and then on the USS Rushmore. When it was time for me to attend college, I chose NCC because it's veteran friendly and offers many different programs.
