I serve in the United States Air Force working on helicopters.  In the photo I was part of the Air Force Reserves.  I chose Nassau Community College because I heard good things about the education I would get here and because it’s located in my community.  My experience in the service continues to help me at the College.  I learned a lot of life lessons in the military.  Whether it’s speaking in front of people in a communications class or remembering equations for math class my military experience has been beneficial to me.

My fondest memory of NCC is spending time with my friends between classes.  Hopefully we’ll soon be able to do that again.  Ironically, where the campus sits today used to be an airfield named Mitchel Airfield.  Also in those years was the transition from the Army Air Corps into what is today’s air force.

I served in the United States Navy in Recruit Training Command in Great Lakes, II and at Camp Pendleton with the 5th Marines. I was also deployed to Okinawa, Japan twice. Stateside, I knew that Nassau Community College has a reputation for being very military friendly, and when I got here, it was true.

"I served in the United States Navy in San Diego from 2014 to 2021, first on the USS Harpers Ferry and then on the USS Rushmore. When it was time for me to attend college, I chose NCC because it's veteran friendly and offers many different programs.
