Zach Dumelle is a student Orientation Leader. He hopes to graduate in the spring of 2024 with a degree in Business Administration.

“For my first semester of college, I attended a large university out of state.  As the semester went on, I was feeling more and more detached from the experience.  After some contemplation I decided that coming back home for college would be my best choice.  I enrolled at NCC for the spring 2023 semester.  The decision was one of the most worthwhile I have ever made.  Every professor I’ve had has a passion for teaching.  I have enjoyed camaraderie with my peers as well.  I became a student orientation leader because I wanted to make even more friends and play a larger role in the campus community.  My one word to describe Nassau Community College would be ‘genuine’.”

I served in the United States Navy in Recruit Training Command in Great Lakes, II and at Camp Pendleton with the 5th Marines. I was also deployed to Okinawa, Japan twice. Stateside, I knew that Nassau Community College has a reputation for being very military friendly, and when I got here, it was true.
