I have been a full-time faculty member at Nassau Community College since 2005. My training is in violin performance and orchestral conducting. I conducted the NCC Orchestra for 13 years, and now that I'm chair of the Music Department, I mostly teach music theory to our first-year students in the AAS program. I'm also the Music Director of the North Shore Symphony, which performs four concerts a year at the Adelphi University Performing Arts Center, and I conduct the Youth Symphony in the Gemini Youth Orchestra program, which includes an annual gala performance at Lincoln Center every spring.

My fondest memories at Nassau Community College involve the occasions in which I get to perform alongside students and colleagues. Not being together to make music is what I miss most as a result of this pandemic. What makes NCC special to me is seeing the bonds that form between the students and getting to witness the development of their musicianship as they progress through the program. Many of them come in with little formal training, and seeing how much they accomplish in their short time with us is an inspiration. When they move on to their four-year schools and beyond, they go in well-prepared, which is a testament to the dedication of my fellow faculty members. It makes me proud to be a part of this special program.

I served in the United States Navy in Recruit Training Command in Great Lakes, II and at Camp Pendleton with the 5th Marines. I was also deployed to Okinawa, Japan twice. Stateside, I knew that Nassau Community College has a reputation for being very military friendly, and when I got here, it was true.

"I served in the United States Navy in San Diego from 2014 to 2021, first on the USS Harpers Ferry and then on the USS Rushmore. When it was time for me to attend college, I chose NCC because it's veteran friendly and offers many different programs.
