Harpreet Kaur is the Vice President of the Student Government Association
I'm in my final year at NCC, majoring in Business Administration. Nassau Community College appealed to me because of its affordability. My two siblings are also college students, and it is difficult for my family to help pay for their tuition each year. Because of family problems that occurred during my senior year of high school I decided to stay close to home.
My time at Nassau Community College has been a blessing. I was really quiet and kept to myself my first year here. All that changed in my second year when I became a senator for the Student Government Association. I joined the SGA to become more active in student life and to enable more students to participate in clubs and activities at the College. Being on campus with my sister is my favorite memory at NCC. We had some of our classes together, and then we'd go to the library to study afterward.

I served in the United States Navy in Recruit Training Command in Great Lakes, II and at Camp Pendleton with the 5th Marines. I was also deployed to Okinawa, Japan twice. Stateside, I knew that Nassau Community College has a reputation for being very military friendly, and when I got here, it was true.

"I served in the United States Navy in San Diego from 2014 to 2021, first on the USS Harpers Ferry and then on the USS Rushmore. When it was time for me to attend college, I chose NCC because it's veteran friendly and offers many different programs.
