"Following my high school graduation, I was kind of at a crossroads. I had decent grades, I'd been accepted to a few schools, but I honestly lacked direction. I enrolled at NCC to begin my college education and "figure it all out." I happened to see a flyer that said, "Come audition to be a part of WHPC." On a whim, I did.  A week later, Jim Green had me cracking the mic at 3:00am talking up Perry Como records. I started DJ'ing "The Soft Sounds of WHPC." I was hooked. I worked my way up to joining the lineup of the Saturday 'X-treme Rock' heavy metal block of programming and eventually became the metal music director of the station.

I've more or less been in the broadcasting/entertainment business for over two decades. WHPC provided an academic experience that was fun! As a student volunteer at the station, I discovered the strength of my own resiliency and the value of discipline. WHPC truly is one of the best college radio stations.”

I served in the United States Navy in Recruit Training Command in Great Lakes, II and at Camp Pendleton with the 5th Marines. I was also deployed to Okinawa, Japan twice. Stateside, I knew that Nassau Community College has a reputation for being very military friendly, and when I got here, it was true.
