SUNY Nassau Legal Studies Student
I decided to attend SUNY Nassau because I wanted to stay close to home and work. I also wasn't sure how my transition out of high school to college would be. SUNY Nassau provided many opportunities -- I felt it was a great fit for me.
My experience in the Legal Studies program has been amazing! Despite being online due to COVID, I feel that I was able to gain knowledge about what it would be like to work as a paralegal. All of the professors I have had so far have left me with the tools I need to carry with me into my career. In one of my classes the professor suggested that we all become notaries. I'm so grateful for this because it has helped me with my resume. I feel that all my professors were willing to go out of their way to help me.
After I graduate, I plan on transferring to another college to get my bachelor's degree. I hope to work as a paralegal and attend law school at the same time.

I served in the United States Navy in Recruit Training Command in Great Lakes, II and at Camp Pendleton with the 5th Marines. I was also deployed to Okinawa, Japan twice. Stateside, I knew that Nassau Community College has a reputation for being very military friendly, and when I got here, it was true.
