I enlisted for active duty service for the Army. I chose NCC for my education because it was affordable and close to home. Something that I took away from my experience in the service that helped me prepare for my time at the College is working together to achieve a particular task as well as lending a hand for a fellow classmate if they may need.

A great memory of my time at Nassau would be preparing for the “Friendsgiving” event that took place during the fall semester of 2019, put together by the Hospitality Business Department. I really enjoyed working together with all of my classmates and the faculty members to help make a beautiful holiday event for the all of us to attend. I think it would be great if the NCC faculty members got as much recognition as it was a well-known four-year college!

I served in the United States Navy in Recruit Training Command in Great Lakes, II and at Camp Pendleton with the 5th Marines. I was also deployed to Okinawa, Japan twice. Stateside, I knew that Nassau Community College has a reputation for being very military friendly, and when I got here, it was true.
