Tzivia Miller is the valedictorian of the Class of 2022

"I came to SUNY Nassau Community College because I was unsure of where I was going in life. I knew SUNY Nassau could give me a taste of a wide variety of disciplines in a small, person-centered setting. I must say I had the best experience at the College. Every professor I had was warm and caring and professional. I know I will maintain close ties to many of my professors. I have also made best friends for life through the Nursing program. Without SUNY Nassau our lives would never have intersected.

My favorite memory from SUNY Nassau Community College have been my clinical experiences, most specifically the rotation I did on a labor and delivery unit. On that rotation I was able to witness a delivery as well as a c-section. Those experiences are something I will never forget.

I have already begun the program to achieve a bachelor's degree from Chamberlain University. My ultimate goal is to work as a nurse in a hospital in the NICU (Neonatal Intensive Care Unit)."

I served in the United States Navy in Recruit Training Command in Great Lakes, II and at Camp Pendleton with the 5th Marines. I was also deployed to Okinawa, Japan twice. Stateside, I knew that Nassau Community College has a reputation for being very military friendly, and when I got here, it was true.
