Loan Debt Awareness

The Financial Aid Office is hosting virtual Loan Debt Awareness workshops to help students understand the implications of loan borrowing and managing debt.  NCC would like all students to have a clear understanding of how you are spending, budgeting and saving your money along with preventing delinquency and default of your student loans.

Repayment of federal student loans has been paused since March 2020.  This means that many of you who either graduated or stopped attending school on a half-time basis have not had to make a loan payment since then.  Others who had been making loan payments were put on a pause and not required to make any further payments after March 2020. These loans are scheduled to start entering repayment no later than September 1, 2023.  It is important that you take the necessary steps to avoid going in to loan default, as this will impact your credit rating as well as your future eligibility for any federal financial aid.
