Elizabeth Wellington

Image of Elizabeth Wellington Elizabeth Wellington is the Deputy Director of the Long Island African American Chamber of Commerce Inc. She has represented and advocated for minority business owners and individuals in the community. She was a recipient of the 2020 “WCPD-High Tea” award, and was honored as one of the Top 50 Women in Business and received the 2019 Annual Diversity in Business Award from Long Island Business News (LIBN).

Wellington is also the Vice President of Wellie the Transporter LLC. The company is a transportation service that specializes in general freight shipments, serving clients within the Northeast Region and Metropolitan Area. Wellington is the Program Coordinator for The Nassau County Commission on Human Rights. She is an accomplished business and civic professional with a broad spectrum of knowledge in both the private and public sector in the fields of advertising, corporate finance, transportation logistics, investigation, trucking, community advocacy and election campaigns. 

Wellington graduated from SUNY Nassau and John Jay College of Criminal Justice, earning an A.S and B.S in Criminal Justice. She also was the recipient of a Master’s degree in Public Administration with specializations in Human Resources and Management & Operations. Wellington is married to Antonio Wellington. Stephen, her son, also graduated from John Jay College. Wellington is of Trinidadian descent.
