Garden City, NY (March 3, 2020) – Nassau Community College (NCC) will host a variety of engaging discussions, educational workshops and performances throughout March and April as part of its Spring 2020 Cultural Program. All events are free, open to the public, and will be held on the Nassau Community College campus, College Center Building, Room 252/253.

Associate Director for Policy and Governmental Affairs at Vietnam Veterans of America
and Nassau Community College alumnus Kris Goldsmith will discuss his recent report,
“Hijacking our Heroes.” The report details the extent of Russian and other hackers exploiting veterans and
their families through disinformation on social media.

Once considered the “heir” to the white supremacist movement, Derek Black renounced
the movement several years ago. His father is the founder of the white supremacist
website Stormfront, and his godfather is the infamous KKK leader David Duke. Black
will talk about his experience growing up within the white nationalist movement, how
people become involved in it, and how to combat it.
