Clybourne Park

June 19-22 & 25-29

Garden City, NY – Nassau Community College is proud to present the Tony Award-winning comedy Clybourne Park, which will be performed in the Mainstage Theatre June 19 through 22 and 25 through 29.Written by Bruce Norris, Clybourne Park won the 2011 Pulitzer Prize and the 2012 Tony Award. Its two acts are set 50 years apart. Act one takes place in 1959, as nervous community leaders anxiously try to stop the sale of a local home to a black family. Act two is set in the same house in the present day, as the now predominantly African American neighborhood battles to hold its ground in the face of gentrification. Clybourne Park has been called sharp-witted, uproariously funny and an insightful time bomb.Tickets for Clybourne Park are $9.00 each, discounted to $7.00 for seniors aged 55 and over. College students with valid current ID can get free rush tickets at the door. Performances of the play are Wednesday through Saturday at 8:00 p.m. and Sundays at 3:00 p.m.  For more information, or to order tickets, call the Theatre box office at 516.572.7676 Monday through Thursday from 10:00 a.m. through 4:30 p.m. About Nassau Community College Nassau Community College, part of the State University of New York, is an institution where nearly 23,000 full- and part-time students and approximately 10,000 continuing and professional students start and continue their successful journey through higher education.
