Nassau Community College Launches 'Discovery Center' 

Innovative, Interactive Web-Based Marketing Touts NCC's Benefits

Garden City, NY — Nassau Community College has announced the launching of its cutting edge marketing and student enrollment management initiative, the virtual "Discovery Center at NCC." This initiative also represents a major 'Green Initiative' utilizing digital advertising delivery methods rather than paper-based.The Discovery Center is a powerful, informative and interactive website of information and videos.  It highlights the multifaceted and multidimensional value of a Nassau Community College education for anyone thinking about college, returning to college, transferring from another institution, returning home from the military, or just interested in a course or two for personal development.  The Discovery Center communicates this message through a dynamic blend of technology, innovation and cost effectiveness.In touting the benefits of the Discovery Center, Dr. Kenneth Saunders, Acting President of NCC, said, "The Center was designed and engineered for accessibility and recognizes the significance of how multiple tech savvy generations access information in this digital era. Most of our potential students have never known life without personal computers, mobile phones, and social networking sites." He added, "They are true digital aficionados for whom email, texting, and viewing video content on-line is 'first nature.' That's why we believe that the Discovery Center will serve as a most effective and efficient way for them to see how NCC is the place to go for educational excellence and career advancement."Recognizing that access and mobility are critical to today's student, anyone with a smartphone, tablet, or computer can easily access the Discovery Center and view short video presentations by faculty and staff on such subjects as programs of study, distance education, Weekend College, library services, facilities, financial aid, admissions, veteran's affairs, athletics, and much more.The Discovery Center can be accessed on the vast majority of computer devices and operating platforms and most Internet browsers including IE 9 and 10, Google Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Opera, and others. NCC has also taken the lead as it relates to ADA compliance for web-based video presentations for the hearing impaired.
