The Nassau Community College Board of Trustees Elects Jorge L. Gardyn Vice Chair

Garden City, NY – The Nassau Community College Board of Trustees is pleased to announce that Jorge L. Gardyn MD, FACP has been elected by the NCC Board of Trustees to be its Vice Chair.  Dr. Gardyn, who became a Board member on August 1, 2011, will begin his term as Vice Chair immediately. (download hi res photo)  "I know that I speak for all of the Board members when I say that we highly value the wisdom, experience and common sense that Dr. Gardyn will bring to his new position on the Board, and I, personally, look forward to working with him as part of the Board's leadership team," said Geoffrey Prime, who is the Chair of the NCC Board of Trustees.Dr. Gardyn is a board certified internist who is currently the Division Chief of Occupational and Corporate Medicine at Nassau University Medical Center in East Meadow. He has been in private practice since 1990, and in 1995 started Island Occupational Medical Resources, which specializes in occupational medical examinations. Dr. Gardyn has been at the forefront of providing quality medical services for the volunteer firefighters of Nassau and Suffolk counties. He is the Medical Director for the Nassau County EMS Academy, the Nassau County Fire Service Academy and the Vocational Educational Extension Board License Practical Nursing Program.
