Nassau Community College Presents: "Breaking the Code"

November 1-4 & 7-11

Garden City, NY – The Nassau Community College Department of Theatre and Dance is proud to present the drama "Breaking the Code," which will be performed at the Little Theatre November 1 through 4 and 7 through 11. "Breaking the Code" is based on the book "Alan Turing: The Enigma," written by Andrew Hodges. Turing is known as "the father of computer science and artificial intelligence" and was the person most responsible for inventing a machine called "the British Bombe" which was used to decode ciphers created by the German Enigma machine during World War II. He was a vital part of the British cryptographic team at Bletchley Park that cracked the Enigma code during the war. Turing's genius was virtually unknown to the British public until well after the war, however, because of concerns about national security. Tickets for "Breaking the Code" cost $9.00. Performances are at 8:00 p.m. daily, except for Sunday, when they begin at 3:00 p.m. Tickets are free for college students with valid current ID who buy them at the door for that night's Wednesday, Thursday or Friday performance only. For more information, or to order tickets, call the Theatre Box Office at 516.572.7676 Monday through Friday from 10:00 a.m. until 4:30 p.m.
