Garden City, NY – The Nassau Community College Department of Theatre and Dance is proud to present the children’s musical “The Emperor’s New Clothes,” which will be performed at the Mainstage Theatre on October 13, 14, 19, 20, 21, 27 and 28. A children’s musical from the team responsible for “Seussical the Musical,” “The Emperor’s New Clothes” is based on the classic Hans Christian Andersen story — with a few delightful differences. The action now takes place in the mythical kingdom of Mango-Chutney, which has a parade every day, and there’s a one-man army named Pony and an emperor who is known as the wisest man in the world because he has read the dictionary all the way through. “The Emperor’s New Clothes” is a funny, family-friendly romp. “The Emperor’s New Clothes” will be performed at 2:00 p.m. each day, except for Friday, October 19, when it will begin at 7:00 p.m. Tickets, which cost $9.00 per person, are $6.00 for those aged 12 and under. Rush tickets for college students with valid ID are free for the October 19th 7:00 p.m. performance only. For more information, or to order tickets, call the Theatre Box Office at 516.572.7676 Monday through Friday from 10:00 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. About Nassau Community College Nassau Community College, part of the State University of New York, is an institution where nearly 24,000 full- and part-time students and almost 15,000 continuing and professional students start and continue their successful journey through higher education.
