Logan Kenney Elected New Student Government Association President at Nassau Community CollegeLogan Kenney, NCC 2012-2013 SGA President

Garden City, NY – Newly-elected Nassau Community College Student Government Association (SGA) President Logan Kenney believes that college is the perfect time for students to explore different fields and find out what might interest them. And she believes that NCC is just the place to do that."I don't think everyone is aware of all that Nassau has to offer. Students have an amazing chance at this College to take different courses and get involved in different clubs or organizations that may change the direction of their professional lives," said Kenney, who is 19 years old. During her tenure as SGA president, she hopes to further open the lines of communication and make students more aware of the variety of opportunities available to them. This, Kenney believes, will help provide them with the full college experience. She will encourage students to come to her with their comments and concerns as well.Kenney, a former youth leader at her church, is excited about working with and for the College's nearly 24,000 students and meeting many different types of people. "It would be wonderful to make more friends, especially with people from other backgrounds," she said.A liberal arts major at NCC, Kenney has been inspired by her professors at Nassau. She takes honors courses at the College, is a member of the Phi Theta Kappa National Honor Society and has a 4.0 grade point average. Upon graduating from Nassau, she hopes to attend either Harvard University or the University of California, Berkeley and ultimately pursue a career in research psychology.
