Garden City, NY — Nassau Community College is proud to present The Talk:  Friends, Benefits, Love and Power, presented by Jeanine Primm Jones, MSW. The program will be presented twice on Wednesday, March 28 — once at 11:00 a.m. and then again at 2:00 p.m. — in the College Center Building.During her presentation, Jones will discuss how "hooking up" might lead to friendship and commitment. However, it might also lead to dating abuse. Since a large percentage of sexual assaults or rapes happen in acquaintance or dating relationships, she invites us to explore what leads to power and respect in relationships. Jones is a sought-after health educator, giving frequent talks to the National Basketball Association, the National Football League, hospitals, schools and service organizations. In her 19-year career, she has stimulated her audiences to think about what might lead to sexual assault and dating violence and how best to master boundaries and self respect.Jones received her Master’s in Clinical Social Work from Simmons College in Boston. She is a partner in Health Disparities Services, LLC.Nassau Community College’s presentation of The Talk:  Friends, Benefits, Love and Power — which is free, open to the public and accessible to the disabled — is part of its “No to Harassment, No to Assault!” program for Sexual Harassment Awareness Month.
