Nassau Community College Presents "Career Paths for a Changing Economy:  Two-Year Degrees That Can Work for You"March 8Garden City, NY - The Career Counseling Center at Nassau Community College will present the workshop "Career Paths for a Changing Economy:  Two-Year Degrees That Can Work for You" on Thursday, March 8 at 11:30 a.m. in the College Center Building. The workshop will focus on what professionals can do with a two-year degree."In today's ever-changing workplace, investing in your education and developing marketable skills is a must," said Prof. Constance Egelman, Coordinator of Career Development at Nassau Community College.  "NCC offers a variety of two-year degree programs and student services that can help people transition to the workplace successfully."According to the U.S. Census Bureau, the more education you have, the more money you earn. Over the average American adult's working life, high school graduates earn an average of $1.2 million; associate degree holders earn about $1.6 million; and bachelor's degree holders earn about $2.1 million. But even that doesn't tell the whole story. In today's challenging economy, it also matters what specific skills you have. Speakers will talk about professional development and career opportunities in such growing fields as health sciences, paralegal studies and health information technology, among others. Attendees will not only learn about these programs, but will also have the opportunity to ask questions of the experts and network with fellow professionals. For more information about "Career Paths for a Changing Economy:  Two-Year Degrees That Can Work for You," which is free and open to the public, call 516.572.7696 or email Constance.Egelman@ncc.edu.About Nassau Community CollegeNassau Community College, part of the State University of New York, is an institution where over 24,000 full- and part-time students and almost 15,000 continuing and professional studies students start and continue their successful journey through higher education.
