Nassau Community College Presents the Musical "Spring Awakening" March 15-18 & 21-25

Garden City, NY - The Nassau Community College Department of Theatre and Dance is proud to present "Spring Awakening," its spring musical. The play will be performed March 15 through 18 and 21 through 25 at the Mainstage Theatre.

"Spring Awakening" celebrates the unforgettable journey from youth to adulthood with a power, poignancy and passion that viewers will never forget. Adapted from Frank Wedekind's 1891 expressionist play about the trials, tears and exhilaration of the teen years, the play explores the tortured inner lives of a handful of adolescents in 19th-century Germany with a rock musical score. "Spring Awakening" has been hailed as the best musical of the year by several major publications. It won eight Tony awards in 2007, including that for Best Musical.

Tickets for "Spring Awakening" cost $15 each. Those for seniors aged 55 and over cost $12. College students with valid current ID can obtain free rush tickets at the door for that day's performance. Performances are at 8:00 p.m., except for Sundays, when they are at 3:00 p.m. For more information, or to order tickets, call the Theatre box office at 516.572.7676 Monday through Friday between 10:00 a.m. and 4:30 p.m.
