Garden City, NY — The Nassau Community College Spring 2012 Cultural Program is proud to present the American Place Theatre's award-winning stage dramatization of the first half of the best-selling novel "The Kite Runner" on Monday, March 12 at 11:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. in the College Center Building."The Kite Runner," written by Khaled Hosseini, portrays the tortured relationship between two boys in Afghanistan in the 1970s — Amir, a privileged Pashtun, and Hassan, his Hazara servant. It's a heart-rending story of friendship and betrayal that culminates in a shocking incident of elitism and class division.A stage presentation by The American Place Theatre is an in-school experience created to improve the academic engagement of students. It uses theatre, drama and great literature to bring classroom content to life with verbatim theatrical adaptations of significant American literature.
