Nassau Men’s Soccer Heads to National Tournament

November 9, 2023:
Nassau Lions Men’s Soccer Advance to National Championship Semi-finals
It took two overtime periods for the Lions to punch their ticket to the final four in the Men’s Soccer National Championship tournament. A goal by Lorenzo Cali in the 108^th minute clinched the win for the Lions. The Lions outshot the Bulldogs of Bunker Hill Community College 14-2 and dominated possession for most of the match. The Region 15 Champion Lions haven’t lost a match this season with an overall record of 17-0-2.

The Lions will face the Mohawk Valley Hawks on Friday, November 10, 2023 at 6:30 p.m. The game will be streamed live on the NJCAA Network.

November 7, 2023:
The Nassau Lions Men’s soccer team begins their quest for a National Championship on Wednesday, November 8, 2023 at 4 p.m. against Bunker Hill Community College. The Lions are the #2 seed as Region 15 Champions in the 8 team NJCAA tournament held in Gastonia, North Carolina.

The game will be streamed on the NJCAA.org/network.

Men’s Soccer Wins Championship

October 28, 2023:
Nassau Community College Men’s soccer team won the NJCAA Region 15 Championship on October 28, 2023. The Lions defeated the Suffolk Community College Sharks 3-0. Region 15 player-of-the-year Marc Agustin led the team with one goal and two assists. Freshman Chrystian Hernandez and Sophomore Oracio Agbegninou each had a goal.

Ranked 3rd nationally, the Lions advance to compete in the NJCAA National Championships as the North Atlantic District Champions. The tournament begins November 7, 2023 in Gastonia, North Carolina.

Men’s Soccer Coach Dan Fisher Honored

October 28, 2023:
Nassau Community College Men’s Soccer Head Coach Dan Fisher has been named Region 15 Coach of the Year. This season Fisher led the Lions to a regular season record of 16 wins, no losses, and 2 ties. The team has won the Region 15 Championship and is headed to the NJCAA National tournament.

Coach Fisher has compiled an impressive overall 187-42-5 record with the Lions since 2004. He has led teams to the National Final Four 4 times and won the National Championship in 2015. This will be the eighth time Coach Fisher has been honored with Region 15 Coach of the Year. A 1995 graduate of Nassau Community College, Fisher continues to bring excellence and pride to the Lions’ athletic programs.
